These actions have the purpose or effect of harming a person\u2019s personality, dignity, or physical or psychological integrity.  <\/p>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"sexual-harassment\"><strong>Sexual harassment<\/strong> <\/h4>\n\n\n<p>Sexual harassment refers to any unwanted conduct of a sexual nature\u2014whether physical, verbal, or non-verbal\u2014that has the purpose or effect of violating a person\u2019s dignity, particularly by creating an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating, or offensive environment. <\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"the-importance-of-prevention\"><strong>The importance of prevention<\/strong> <\/h3>\n\n\n<p>Preventing workplace harassment means protecting both employee health and the company\u2019s reputation. Others, more subtle, take the form of repeated sarcasm, social exclusion, or abuse of authority.  <\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"consequences-on-the-working-environment\"><strong>Consequences on the working environment<\/strong> <\/h3>\n\n\n<p>Harassment profoundly damages <strong>organizational culture<\/strong>. It fosters mistrust, demotivation, and turnover. A climate of fear hinders creativity and collaboration, leading to lower productivity and a deterioration of the overall work environment.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:39px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"legal-framework-and-obligations-of-the-employer\"><strong>Legal framework and obligations of the employer<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"the-labor-code-and-harassment\"><strong>The labor code and harassment<\/strong> <\/h3>\n\n\n<p>In Belgium, the law of 4 August 1996 on workers\u2019 well-being requires employers to prevent all forms of harassment. In France, Articles L.1152-1 and L.1153-1 of the Labour Code define and sanction moral and sexual harassment.
